OUR JOURNEY

Whether you find yourself sitting on the mountain top with the world at your feet or you find yourself up to your waist in the quick sand and sinking fast, you might be asking yourself, “How did I get here?”  We never know when an experience of life might be the first step of a journey to unimaginable heights or to the pit of misery.  We like to think the first time we walked into an escape room called “Clara’s Diary” in Edmond, Oklahoma about eight years ago, we took that first step that would start our journey to where we find ourselves today – owners of our very own escape room. Since that first escape room experience (which we thoroughly enjoyed), the two of us have visited close to two dozen more escape rooms across the country (South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, in addition to several more in Oklahoma).  Thankfully, you don’t have to “escape” in order to enjoy the experience.  But because we both thrive on challenges, one of us somewhere along the way several months ago came up with the brilliant idea, “Hey, let’s build our own escape room.”   That’s all it took.

A few “you can’t do that” comments spurred us on to show we could until the day we signed a 5-year lease on a 4,000 square foot space and a realization that “now we have to do that.”  From the beginning, our thoughts have been (1) let’s do it right and make it the best escape room ever so that our customers enjoy the experience as much as we have, and (2) let’s make it something that will honor God.  To that end, we have invested all we could afford and then a little more and we are working to develop one of our game rooms that will be based on some theme from the Bible.  We think that will be a first in the escape room business as we have not seen or heard of an escape room based on a Bible theme.  We hope our escape room business is a joy and a blessing to every one of you who visit us and one that honors our God in every way.
